Mumu

Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Mumu (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Mumu mobile application (the “App”) on Apple devices. Mumu is designed as a private, local journaling and storybook experience. By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

Content you create. The App stores your journals, pages, text, images, and related preferences on your device. This content is intended to stay under your control and is not uploaded to our servers by the App, because Mumu does not require you to create an account with us.

Purchase information. If you buy optional in-app items (such as coin packs), Apple processes payments. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide us limited transaction-related identifiers as needed to deliver purchases, in line with Apple’s policies.

Diagnostics (if any). Unless we explicitly enable optional analytics or crash reporting in a future update and disclose it here, we do not intentionally collect usage analytics from the App. Standard device and operating-system services may still process limited technical data as part of running iOS.

2. How we use information

We use information solely to operate and improve the App on your device, fulfill in-app purchases you choose, and respond to support requests you send us. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Local storage and security

Mumu emphasizes on-device storage. Your library and images are kept in the App’s protected storage area on your device. The App may apply encryption to help protect your saved library data. You are responsible for keeping your device secure (passcode, Face ID, backups) and for any exports or shares you initiate.

4. Photos and media

If you grant permission, the App may access your photo library or camera only to let you attach images to your entries. Images you add are stored locally as part of your content unless you choose to share them through another app or system feature outside Mumu.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not host your journal content on our servers as part of normal App operation. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or if you contact us and voluntarily provide information for support.

6. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through support channels, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

7. International users

Because data stays primarily on your device, international transfers by us are limited. If you email support, your message may be processed according to the practices of our mail provider.

8. Retention

Your journal content remains on your device until you delete it within the App or remove the App from your device (subject to your own backups). Support emails may be retained only as long as needed to resolve your request.

9. Your choices

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version by updating the effective date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
